About the JSO Inmate Information Search Tool

The JSO Inmate Information Search web tool is used to search for both current and historical information about incarcerated and released inmates. Mugshots and other useful inmate information, such as charges, can be quickly viewed using this site.

How To Search for An Inmate Record

To search for an inmate, do the following:

  2. On the JSO Inmate Information Search - Home page, enter either the first two characters of the inmate's Last Name, the ten-digit Jail Number of the inmate, or the JSO ID of the inmate that you want to search for.

How To Print Inmate Information

To print inmate information in an "HTML printer-friendly version" format, do the following:
Note: Use this option when you want to quickly print the inmate information, and you aren't concerned about document pagination.
  1. Search for and display the information for a particular inmate. (See How To Search for an Inmate Record for more information.)

    2. On the JSO Inmate Information Search - Inmate Details Page, click the HTML Printer-Friendly Version hyperlink to display the JSO Inmate Information Search - Print Preview page.
  2. On the File menu of the web browser window that displays the JSO Inmate Information Search - Print Preview Page, choose Print.

To print inmate information in a "PDF printer-friendly version" format, do the following:
Note: Use this option when you want to quickly print the inmate information in a paginated, nicely-formated, paginated Adobe Portable Document (PDF) format. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this document (Go to www.adobe.com for more information.
  1. Search for and display the information for a particular inmate. (See How To Search for an Inmate Record for more information.)

    2. On the JSO Inmate Information Search - Inmate Details Page, click the PDF Printer-Friendly Version hyperlink to display the JSO Inmate Information Search - Print Preview page.
  2. On the File menu of the web browser window that displays the JSO Inmate Information Search - Print Preview Page, choose Print.


Search Tips

Tip 1: The search returns matches for all names that begin with the letters you type In the Last Name, First Name, and Middle Name fields on the JSO Inmate Information Search - Home page. For example, if you enter Williams in the Last Name field, the search could return inmate records for Williams and Williamson.
Tip 2: Use the full Last Name, full First Name, and full Middle Name of the inmate as search criteria only when you know the exact spelling of the name of the inmate whose record you want to view. An exact inmate name match will return search results faster, and you will typically have only one or few inmate records to select from in the search results. If you don't know the exact spelling of the inmate's name or the inmate's exact Jail Number or the inmate's exact JSO ID number, use a partial Last Name search.
Tip 3: The Jail Number is a ten-digit inmate identification number assigned for each incident of inmate incarceration by the Department of Corrections. Use the Jail Number as the inmate search criteria when you know it. An exact Jail Number match will be faster than a partial name search, because it will only return one matching record.
Tip 4: The JSO ID is a six-digit permanent inmate identification number assigned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Use the JSO as the inmate search criteria when you know it and when you want to view historical information about an inmate that has been in jail more than one time. An exact JSO ID match might be more useful than partial name search if you are looking for all information about one inmate, because it will only return all the jail records related to a specific inmate.
Tip 5: If you plan to look up information on a particular incarcerated inmate more than once, write down the Jail Number of the inmate when you first find the inmate record, and use the jail number to perform future searches for the same inmate record.
Tip 6: Print the detailed inmate information for an inmate of particular interest. This printed inmate information might be useful if you plan to visit an inmate or if you simply want have a portable document that contains information about a particular inmate and their charges. Tip 7: Capitalization and blank spaces within inmate search criteria do not affect the results of a search.

Item Description
[Clear] Click this button to clear all the current search criteria so that you can do a new inmate search.
First Name The first name of the inmate. Enter zero or more letters. This field is optional.
Jail Number A unique, ten-digit inmate identification number assigned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Department of Corrections. You can use the Jail Number as the inmate search criteria when you know it. An inmate's Jail Number changes each time they are incarcerated. This field is required if no Last Name or JSO ID field values have been entered.
JSO ID A permanent, six-digit, unique inmate identification number assigned to an inmate by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Unlike the Jail Number (which changes each time an inmate is incarcerated), the JSO ID for an specific inmate does not change for an inmate who has been incarcerated more than once. This field is required if no Last Name or Jail Number field values have been entered.
Last Name The last name of the inmate. Enter two or more letters. This field is required if no Jail Number or JSO ID values have been entered.
Middle Name The middle name of the inmate. Enter zero or more letters. This field is optional.
[Search] Click this button to request a search for an inmate record.

New Search Click this button to return to the JSO Inmate Information Search - Home page to begin a new inmate record search.
Results The results of the search. If the search does not return a matching inmate record, this field displays a message indicating that no match was found for the inmate. If the search does return one or more matching inmate records, a table of one or more inmate records appears. If more than ten inmate records are returned by the search, you can use the Previous and Next hyperlinks to browse through the search results. Once you find the desired inmate record, you can click the More... hyperlink to view more details about an inmate.

Housing Location The jail facility where the inmate is housed. Facilities in Jacksonville include the Pretrial Detention Facility (PDF), Montgomery Correctional Center (MCC), and Community Corrections Center (CCC).
Jail Number A unique, ten-digit inmate identification number assigned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Department of Corrections. You can use the Jail Number as the inmate search criteria when you know it. An inmate's Jail Number changes each time they are incarcerated.
JSO ID A permanent, unique inmate identification number assigned to an inmate by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Unlike the Jail Number (which changes each time an inmate is incarcerated), the JSO ID for an specific inmate does not change for an inmate who has been incarcerated more than once.
Length of Sentence The estimated number of days the inmate will be in jail, if available.
[New Search] Click this button to return to the JSO Inmate Information Search - Home page to begin a new inmate record search.
Next Court Date The date, time, and courtroom location information for the inmate's next scheduled court appearance.
